Long days

I'm back, coming to you from the Chehalis Community Campground (weekly rates available).  Quick recap of the previous two days:

Ellensberg to Ohanapecosh

If you ever you find yourself in Ellensberg, I'm sorry. Leaving town as quick as I could I headed west on up Umptanum road.  I add this detail because it was a significant error.  Thank you google maps for sending me two hours out of my way on a dirt road.  Still, the scenery was quite stunning.

I believe you can make out Mt Rainer in the background.  The bartender in the town of Naches (where I stopped for lunch) told me that the road was part of the old wagon trail heading west.  Oregon trail stuff, how appropriate.

That concludes the photos for this update, that is until I can find some decent WIFI.

From the town of Naches I headed west on Hwy 12 towards Mt Rainer National Park. It was hot and the climb was steady to the top of White Pass. The photo to come will show an elevation greater than Blewett Pass. Trust me.

Then a sharp descent to the park and soon I was relaxing near the fire with Rene, Huegette, Ginette, Ash, and Jonas.  It was a longish day, 9+ hrs of riding, 1800 metres of climbing, but worth it for the amazing scenery.  Again, trust me.

Ohanapecosh to Chehalis

A bit of a later start today, on account of yesterday's big climbs.  I carried on west on Hwy 12, through the town of Packwood and onto the town of Morton where I stopped for lunch. Long kilometres made difficult by a headwind and rough pavement were compounded when the ashphalt disappeared completely. 3 miles of road work, riding on crushed gravel and oil. A little like riding through sand.

On to chehalis and the end of another long day.

Ginette/ash/Jonas update:

The family's been enjoying Mt Rainer Park today. None were willing to give up some forest hikes for km's with Dad, can't say I blame them. Tomorrow they will head to Ike Kinswa State Park while I'm off to Bruceport, then we will meet up on Sunday in Oregon at Ft Stevens State Park.

I didn't pay 12.99/mo for this blog to only get two photos! What's the email for subscriber complaints?
Hugs and kisses xoxo

What the #$%@^&!!! The Emperor has reached an all time low.

You made your therapist pay for this drivel??? You ripped off [not] Don Jar-Care-o... Even still he remains gracious. Regardless of the lack of pictures...hugs and kisses are conveyed.

Not from me! Rebukes and wrath from my pen.

Not Jarkko, I fear your complaints will fall on deaf ears. This man simply does not care. He is out of his mind; he will sucker whatever dimes he can along the way...starting with your 'subscription fee'...
