Done
This is it, final post. Hope you enjoyed the ride as much as we did.
I left deception pass state park after a restless night interrupted by screaming jet fighters. Heading north, I found a great road moving along the coast. Lunch and on to Chuckanutt drive, stunning scenery. In to Fairhaven/Bellingham for cofffee and onwards to the border. Uneventful day save for another flat tire. I was prepared for this one, but wouldn't you know it, two different people within 5 minutes stop, ask me if I have everything I need and if I need any help. Kudos Bellingham!
A tailwind had me at the border around 5pm, at Rene and huegette's by 6pm. I contemplated carrying on to kelowna this am, but the threat of fire, dead legs, and more instant noodles has me staying put.
A few lowlites, then highlites.

1. BROKEN GLASS! Really Washington & Oregon? Recycle.
2. RV drivers with no prior experience. There should be a test.
3. Ellensburg
4. Washington State Parks. Rates and location of hiker/biker sites need to be improved. And please figure out how to recycle!
5. Brooks Cambium saddle. So disappointed.
Enough negativity... on to the highlites!
1. Oregon state parks. Beautiful and inexpensive. Well done Oregon.
2. Port Townsend, Fairhaven, Seaside, Leavenworth. Great communities.
3. Fellow bike tourers. What an interesting bunch. Friendly, considerate, good people.
4. Logging truck drivers. I was nervous, but these trucks without exception made room for me or slowed behind if traffic was coming from the other direction.
5. People of Bellingham.
6. West coast scenery. Simply stunning.
7. Parents and in laws there to help and support. Couldn't have managed without.
8. Ginettte, Ashleigh, and Jonas, willing to indulge the whims of a dad/husband going through a mid-life crisis. What a treat to eat up the miles with this crew.
Until Texas or Europe, may the shoulders be wide and pavement smooth!

Proud of you all! Dad and Mom
James
Kelowna to Toronto next! Or maybe I'll meet u in Sask - now there are some flat roads!
Not so for the Emperor...for the 2nd time he has whined about 'war planes' that are screaming while he attempts to finish a bike ride that will change the entire history of mankind. [beaver]damn those selfish combat birds! Don't they know the Emperor is coating all avenues of pavement, he coasts upon, with a layer of world-peace?
So profound!
Here lies the message to the world i.e. if we all just fabricated our weapons of war into 10 speed bikes, we would all sleep --> minus the fear of war...ever again.
In regard to the lowlites; one comment: evidently the newbie RV pilots failed their mission to flank you into the ditch. (enjoy the deposit you clowns).
Next, for the last time:
1. Oregon state parks. Beautiful and inexpensive. Well done Oregon. (Oregon does not care about your arse-smooching; they are trying to prove their relevance to New York hipsters).
2. Port Townsend, Fairhaven, Seaside, Leavenworth. Great communities. (Great communities to great communities behind bars).
3. Fellow bike tourers. What an interesting bunch. Friendly, considerate, good people. (...and what they are blogging about you is not as flattering...they wonder why you abandoned your lovely family towards the end of your trek? But we know why! To take all the credit).
4. Logging truck drivers. I was nervous, but these trucks without exception made room for me or slowed behind if traffic was coming from the other direction. (the truck drivers do not give 2 pinches of rat filth about your presumptuous caboose on their road; they fear lawsuits).
5. People of Bellingham.(people of Bellingham love their fighter jets...)
6. West coast scenery. Simply stunning. (stunning in spite of your presence on their roads)
7. Parents and in laws there to help and support. Couldn't have managed without. (thanks for stating the obvious).
8. Ginettte, Ashleigh, and Jonas, willing to indulge the whims of a dad/husband going through a mid-life crisis. What a treat to eat up the miles with this crew. (Brent admitted his motive...I am aghast!! My sarcastic disposition is now punishing me).
Until Texas or Europe, may the shoulders be wide and pavement smooth!
(when you hit Texas and Europe...this jealous, sarcastic, cuss will comment all the while...and wish he could bike 5 miles with such gusto! Hat-tip to Ash-the author & Jonas-the legacy; Ginette, as always, I bet your hair looks fantastic!).
*rest well K-FAM!! Thank-you for the intelligent, and vicarious, memories...
p.s. - the Emperor is a sick scoundrel...what a self-absorbed punk.
